An evaluation of the research program, NABIIT, which funds research in nanotechnology, biotechnology and ICT under the Danish Council for Strategic Research, shows that the scientific quality is high and several projects have delivered scientific break-throughs. Yet, the number of technical breakthroughs is low, and commercial benefits of the projects limited. Thus strengthened commercialization efforts are important to increase value to society.
